Sunday Reflections 07/18/2021

I just realized I have not visited this site in quite a while. Nothing much going on in my life other than I'm still working from home and will continue working from home as it looks as though the Delta Variant of the COVID family is starting to make an ugly appearance as we head through the summer. Doesn't look like it will be letting up as we head into Fall and the start of school.

I'm fine with working from home though work has finally hit a point of so much ridiculous protocol and requirements to be deemed "good" at the job that I've been studying how long I have to work before I can actually retire. Optimally working until I'm 70 was the original plan, but 67 is looking so much better. I think SS reflects that I have to work until 66 years old and 8 months. to draw a decent retirement from SS. There are a lot of factors involved and I'm giving them all serious consideration. My new plan as of late is to retire by the time I turn 67. I just don't think I can manage to stick it out mentally until I turn 70. I do want to be able to enjoy some of life after I retire so 67 is the new goal.

The pup is growing so fast and much. He's 7.5 months old and a handful. He's a good and I've signed us up for training here in the next couple of weeks. I think it will do us both good.

I've been trying to motivate myself to get up and around, move more but I'm not going to lie, I'm depressed. The online dating sites are a complete and total disappointment. The only man that has responded lives clear out in western Oklahoma practically to the panhandle. I started thinking about why in the world would I want to strike up a friendship with someone so far away? I ended up cancelling meeting him because I just didn't see the point of venturing any further. He may have been open to moving to Tulsa but I honestly don't want someone that is move in ready. In other words, I want someone to just go out with once in an while and spend some quality adult time with...it's a lot to ask for but hey, why not aim for the moon and stars?

Anyay, nothing new on this side of life. Have a great week ahead!!

Wasn't it so much easier back in the 70s when we'd just hit the bars on Friday night and picked someone up for sex?

Glad you're still around and doing as well as can be hoped.

Yes, it was easier in the 70s and 80s, too.
