56% of Active Women Have Their Content Filter Turned On I just found this out. Frankly, I'm shocked. This means that 56% of women turn ON the filter so they can NOT see X rated photos. It's off by default btw. It would probably be higher if more members looked for it. Are the waves of penis pics as main profile pics the culprit here? Help me understand. |

Mine is not on, but I can and do ignore the private parts when I view images. After seeing them ALL THE TIME, you get numb. I will get excited when one of those is within arms reach, tyvm.

Mine is turned on, but my guess is that most women's are off because they are turned off both by pics of penises and pictures of what my friend refers to as "boogawoof". Hi, I honestly never really thought about the filter thing. I don't use the filter - SO - I flipped it on just to see what the difference would be. And I found that you lose about 75 % of content - because well -- I don't think the ratings are all that good. But - I have developed a fairly good "ignore" button - but there are some - penis photos and gaping holes, batwing labia and some rather 'obscure' attempts at sexy that I could really do without. My more nuanced answer is that for me, it;s not just that it's a pic of some fellow's penis, I like penis just fine, I've even seen one or two that were actually more artsy then ick. It's the context and attitude behind the pic. Let me explain. I have my content filter off, but I have to say that I don't enjoy looking at genitalia on this site. It just makes me queasy for some reason. Upper body shots of both genders I find attractive, but not genitalia of people I don't know. . It's well known that men are more visually driven, sexually, than women are, so the fact that more than half of women filter out the nudity shouldn't be that surprising. I just came across a statistic the other day that said only 29% of porn viewers are women and that women prefer to chat and cyber sex, while men prefer to look at pictures. . Another possible reason why more women have their filters on is that they might be viewing the site with children in the room. . I did my own poll recently about who liked or didn't like genital pics as the main profile pic, and the results showed that 40% of women did not like to see men's genitals as their main picture. Only a small percentage of men felt the same negativity toward pictures of women's genitals. Genitalia on Profile Pictures - Good or Bad? I suspect that some men are voting as women though and are skewing my poll results. It seems to me that the vast majority of women (more than 40% ) on the site don't care for the extremely explicit photos.

I don't know why anyone is shocked by these results...it's well known that men like to look, but women are more interested in the romance than the physical. As many have already said, women KNOW that guys have a penis, and when they want to see it, they'll make that desire obvious. . Two comments: 1) The left-right scroll on this blog page is not working so the ends of the lines of text are lost. 2) I dislike the vast majority of the 'disembodied' photos of tits / pussy / arsehole posted on many of the 'female' profiles. So I'm not surprised women don't like the disembodied penises. I hope that most people find a naked (if explicit) photo to be a fair compromise.
