A FINGER RING

A FINGER RING

There are rings for ears, which we always call earrings; also there are toe rings, eyebrow rings, nose rings, belly button rings, tongue rings, nipple rings, clit rings and cock rings. But for rings that we wear on our fingers, we just say rings, never fingerrings!

If we did, just imagine how awkward the vow taken at a marriage would be. With this fingerring, I, John Jones, thee wed you, Lucy Lee!

Or how uncomfortable it would be for a woman just engaged visiting her parents to tell them of her engagement. Mum, Dad, Lucy here ... I am now engaged to John, who has just given me an incredible fingerring!

Or what the father of John would say just before he proposes to Lucy. John, you make sure you give Lucy a good fingerring. I gave your mother the same fingerring that your grandfather gave your grandmother!

That is why rings for fingers are not called fingerrings!

Do you wear any rings on your body?
If so, what rings have you got, and where do you wear them?

I do not wear any rings, not even a wedding ring.

I have always wanted my partners to get a nipple ring and a clit ring, but they have never been persuaded to get pierced in those places. Even when I have pointed out that it is only the same as getting their ears pierced, they have remained unconvinced.

I cannot take any credit for this post. The joke about fingerrings is lifted from Celia Pacquola, a very funny Australian comedian.

And the two photos are the fingerrings that Prince William and Prince Harry gave to Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle; clearly the Duchess of Cambridge got a bigger fingerring than the Duchess of Sussex!

I’m finding it slightly difficult writing blog posts without using an apostrophe. In my comments to blog posts, I can be a rebel and throw in as many apostrophes as I like!

Thanks for sharing, and yes that would sound awkward. Yes I have rings for my fingers, stopped wearing them when pandemic started, all the hand sanitizers, handwashing and wearing of gloves. Yes I have one ear piercing, was forced on me at age 13, the right ear piercing was very painful, it is crooked, can only wear 18 karat gold or higher and 43 years still gets sore at times. No way would I pierce nipple or clit.. is your penies pierced?

I wear a ring on my left hand on finger next to pinky finger (wedding ring)
I have another ring I had made from my 35year pin from my employer but rarely wear it as it is almost as big and heavy as a pro sport winning team ring.

I have many rings but I only wear too unless I am going out then all fingers are usually covered in rings that my children and hubby has given to me. Usually I only wear my wedding ring, and my anniversary band ring.

I hope you enjoy a great weekend..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

I've got a gold stud earing — left ear. 👈.
And I used to wear a ring 💍 on my hand 🖐️ but people were confused 😕 about my status, so I took it off. I liked it though.

I don't wear any rings, so there's no fingering going on

Props for giving credit on the joke, that tends to be kinda rare around here (and it was funny).

Most of my collection of rings no longer fit because of my knuckles getting larger (I suppose that's a sign that arthritis might be on the way, but I'm not feeling any discomfort so far). I should either make a project of resizing them all, or try to give them away to nieces. A couple of them have sentimental value, my grandma's and my mom's engagement rings.

No rings here either - more due to working around high voltage and rotating parts... one can kill you, the other de-glove a finger

I don't wear any jewelry when I'm home working. When we're going somewhere I wear my wedding ring. Years ago I wore 2-3 other rings but I just stopped.

My ears are pierced but I hardly ever wear earrings anymore.... Or any jewelry for that matter. I used to wear it all the time but got out of the habit.

I too have heard horror stories of piercings gone wrong and piercings getting in the way, two of many reasons why I haven't got pierced.
But I hope you get a good fingerring very soon!

My penis is not pierced, but if my partner wanted my penis pierced I'd seriously condider it and then decide not to do it!
You make a fair point. But I do things that my partner have asked me to do that they would never do.

I love the term, pinky finger.
That was one ring you got from your employer!

I'm sure there's a lot of men here who'd like to give you a good fingerring ... I would but my fingers aren't quite long enough to reach across the Atlantic Ocean!

I've heard that where a man wears a ring on his fingers gives out certain signals, whether married or gay and, if gay, top or bottom. But, apart from married, I never quite accepted wht was said to me. Maybe I'm wrong.

Celia Pacquola tells the joke far better than I can write it. Her sketches are on YouTube.

I can well understand why you don't wear a ring. I never knew a finger ring can be so dangerous!
Thanks for stopping by.

People aften ask me why I don't have a wedding ring; it's not because I'm trying to suggest I'm single, it's simply because because I'm not keen on wearing jewellery.

I do wear a watch when going out. Though watches aren't so much worn today as everyone has a mobile phone. But I can tell the time quicker looking at my watch than getting my mobile out!

That's a good strategy for women to ward off unwanteed male advances, though I'm sure some men would ignore the signals!
