I've witnessed thirteen Stanley Cups in my life but since the Canadiens SUCK.... for the last 20 years - hockey has fallen off my radar....sadly. Perhaps one day...  And sports in general have lost their luster for me...I'm getting old and I could give a shit about athletes (from other cities) supposedly representing MY city - making millions of bucks. Fuck em.... and fuck all sports in general. I miss the Women's National Soccer Team vs. the World, and also the NWSL. Those gals are awesome, and their style of play is so very exciting. I would like to have seen the March Madness NCAA basketball tourney, but that was the first casualty of the virus.... blog on!

ive seen the stanley cup in person twice. once was in the 70s when the philly flies, the dirtiest team in sports, even borderline criminal, held their victory parade on broad street. the second was in 1983, in the hockey hall of fame in toronto. two added bonuses (bonii?) were across the hall in the ontario sports hall of fame - one was a magnificent tribute to the unbelievably heroic terry fox (goggle him, PLEASE!) and the other was the world cup of soccer trophy, on loan from the holders ittly. (goggle it as well, beautiful imagery). what a day. im still moved thinking about it writing this almost 40 years later. "well only get through this if we work together. if we dont, none of us will"

Masters and the Waste Management tournaments were my favorites to watch. Along following Brooke and the other fabulous women golfers.

I would have loved a Monday to Friday job leaving the weekends to play slow-pitch. Cooking kinda put a stop to my love of Co-ed sports. Team sport wise, our school was lacking with students setting their egos aside and actually playing as a whole team, not a partial. Never forgave my one coach who really didn't coach saying I was a good cheerleader! Heck if I knew that I would have asked to be transferred to a school where cheerleading is an actual sport that leads to a professional job.

Hi Joy thanks for taking me further with Hockey hmm For all you fellow sports enthusiasts, coaches and lovers of the game, which sports have you missed either playing or watching? I miss Baseball, Football, Basketball, women's beach volleyball, soccer, women's indoor volleyball, Twister If you are yourself a coach, which sport is it that you can say, " I hear you're a player. Nice meet to you, I'm the Coach." ( I love that line for obvious reasons). I used to coach youth & women's soccer teams be safe hmm Warren Zevon - "Hit Somebody! Along following Brooke and the other fabulous women golfers. a game of skill no doubt, but a sport? let them carry their clubs instead of having a caddy do it for them. even then, im sorry, but for the millions they make, no body contact means its a game, not a sport. no one should make millions playing a game 80 yr olds can play. next thing you know, youll turn on espn or foxsports and see people playing cards or video games. undoubtedly, some sports athletes earn their pay more than others, but a fraction of what they all make collectively could double, triple or fourple the salaries of EVERY TEACHER in the united states. can you say "priorities"? do that and see how many of us start cheering athletes again. I basically had a choice of football (soccer), rugby and cricket...and that was it! I preferred football but I was never going to make a professional. Played a lot of games over the weekends for a local team after leaving school but then I got hit by AS (Ankylosing Spondylitis) in a big way.
