 I will respectfully disagree with Jim Morrison's suggestion that *weird* can be nurtured. My sense is that you are born with it or you are not. Thus, if you are gifted (or cursed) with flouting and defiance, you either reflexively *let your freak flag fly* or repress it into stultifying normalcy.

What we can advocate for is tolerance and open-mindedness among those who hew to the paths of conformity and convention. They should (at least) be entertained by nonconformists' irrational exuberance.

Ok i may not wax eloquently as my neighbor to the north but he raises the valid assertion that “weird” is an innate quality. Just like “sexy”, it’s a burden that I exult in having in spades. Oh please add “snarky” too. For posterity’s sake.

There are times where we "have to" fit in - the "normal" world dictates that to be the case (consequences). Example: not walking into WAWA in only and bra panties ... or ... wearing only a jockstrap while heading a meeting of VIP's ... LOL ...

I get what you are saying that "weird" is a born trait and will agree to that to a certain extent. Tho, in my case, being "different" ... it's gotten stronger as I've accepted and "nurtured" it. Luv your thoughts - thank you!
