Random Thought after night of no sleep...
Random Thought after night of no sleep... Have you ever tried to go to sleep because you knew you NEEDED to go to sleep, but the harder you tried to go to sleep the more your treacherous A.D.D. brain fought it, by sending random things through your head.. like.. "Hey! there's dishes that need done.." and so you lay there arguing with yourself, because you know you need the sleep, but that only further wakes you up... So you say to yourself.. "Fine! I'll do the dishes, THEN I'm going to bed!" So You get up, Brain fully awake, Body starting to come fully alive, because it has been tasked with something to do.. Now, here's where things get interesting.. You caught the part where I mentioned, A.D.D. right? For Anyone that doesn't know what that is, it stands for Attention Deficit Disorder. In Laymen's terms it means you have the mind of a Ferret. *ooh! shiny things!* boom, train of thought has jumped the rails, task completely abandoned only half completed.. Next task.. *Shiny things* Train jumps rails, task abandoned half completed, new task started.. rinse, repeat. In Case you are wondering, A.D.D. affects storytelling as well.. You ever have one of those friends that can start talking about something, and an hour later, the topic has changed 5 times, he/she hasn't stopped talking the entire time, and then eventually you get back to the original story.. and you wonder.. HOW did we get from that story.. to this one!? Yeah pretty good chance that friend has A.D.D. Anyways, so I get up to go do dishes, realize I have laundry to put away, So I take said laundry to the Bedroom, and begin folding.. First basket done, Second basket, done.. Shit, still got laundry in the dryer! unload dryer into basket, and realize There's a small load from this afternoon done in the washer.. waiting to be moved to the dryer. Move laundry over, realize the floor needs to be swept... Begin sweeping the floor (notice the missing step yet?) Get from laundry room to kitchen, and into the living room. I realize the living room needs to be swept and mopped.. well you can't just do the living room and hallway, so I get all the bedrooms as well.. All done, headed to go get the broom, dustpan,. and mop and start to realize.. It's quiet?! Remember that missing step I mentioned above? Yep.. I forgot to turn the dryer on... and so the cycle continues.. I've now got clean floors, laundry is caught up on, the countertops are wiped down, and yet, there is still a sink full of dishes.... Damn A.D.D. mind.. And NOW my brain wants to go to sleep... I swear I hear the Mad Hatter Cackle somewhere in the back of my mind.. |

That sounds like how I end up cleaning house LOL. I start with a simple "Oh, I should do ____". Hours later I've started something in each room because I "notice" things... and THEN the OCD kicks in and it's not like things can be left undone...soooooo...now I'm doing my impersonation of the energizer bunny. You would think after all of that I could fall into a deep sleep right? NOPE!! That's when the ADD starts to make a list of things to do the next day...my God I'm exhausting lol. ~Snow~
