BOO HOOOOO

Pride, dignity and good manners. I have often wondered where they disappeared to.

We have a new president. Love him or hate him he is ours for the next 4 years. I read many a blog before the election, and plenty since the election. Naturally, there were different sides for both pro and con of each candidate.

I totally understand the elation of those who backed and supported Obama. They got off their butts and voted. Some even voted 3 and 4 times, self admittedly! for money. I am not so dense as to believe that this has not happened somewhere in other elections prior, they just didn't manage to make it to nation wide tv, with the voters admitting they did it for money because they needed the money.

I do sit and chortle, when I read democrats sitting and saying how they NEVER said or did anything to insult the last president, never sunk to low tricks or scandals. Obviously they have a very short term memory, because I remember many of them.

When I first heard it said, I didn't believe it to be true. I have since read it in print from a very touted black journalist which I usually read and admire. When President Bush arrived for the inaugural swearing in, when he appeared the crowd started chanting na na nana, na na nana, hey hey hey go away.

However, when President Obama was taking his oath of office, you could have heard a pin drop, not a single republican started chanting anything out of respect for the occasion. I am sure that many of you out there will want to believe that there was only Obama supporters in that crowd, but I doubt that highly. Regardless of which party you supported, many wanted to be a part of the history of this country so they showed up.

Many is the time that I read the very rude, insulting emails, sent to me, or others that wind up in blogs. Or just read blogs about how rude and insulting others were just to be that way.

If we are going to have that "Kinder, gentler" world that every one keeps talking about, perhaps it would get that way a hell of a lot quicker if people started remembering their manners, beginning with themself.

The eyes of the entire WORLD are on the United States of America, and how we act, things we say and do are right out there in your face for them to see. I don't think that what they are seeing is very flattering for this country, or it's people that reside in it.

Thanks for answering. Every day I see and hear the rudness in our world and wonder where does it all stop. When do people begin to be held accountable for their OWN actions.
