The Masked Miscreant

I was hoping for Masked Avenger... Not quite working out that way.

As you all know, my company mandated the wearing of masks and face coverings as of Thursday.

It's been pure hell for .

By the end of the day yesterday my sensitive skin was rubbed raw on my upper cheeks from the fabric of the mask moving while I spea

Wearing glasses??

Not happening... The moment I place them on my face they instantly fog the point where I can't see.

And, it's not from my breathing.

They're fogging because I'm a million degrees of sweat from having my face covered so tightly by a mask all day.

I just want die by about 3 o'cloc

Splitting headache, irritated skin, sweaty mess....

And, I'm only 2 days in. What's it going be like next week when I have do this for an entire week? I literally went home last night and rested on the couch with my eyes shut for 2 hours until my headache went away.

Loving life.... Living the quarantine!

If you have some aloe vera gel, that might help with the skin issues. Better yet, if you have an aloe plant, starting sacrificing small bits to smear some of the wonderful goo on your raw skin. I haven't had to wear a mask very much since I don't work with the general public, but there have been a couple of times I've been out that I've had to put one on. Damn thing is constantly creeping up and hitting my eyes. Makes it very hard to breath, too. Makes me thankful I'm not in a position to have to wear one like so many others who suffer with them!
When I wear the paper ones that are provided by the company, I have that issue too where it slides up and pokes my under eye skin. Totally drives me nuts and makes my eyes water. At this point, I don't know whats worse. The fabric mask that my very good friend made for me hurts my skin and is nearly impossible to breathe through but stays put.

    Hi secret_lade

    thanks for sharing

that's tough, my son-in-law is a first responder, my nephew and brother are doctors, and I have several peeps that are nurses

so proud of them for what they do and are having to endure these days

for me, I'm lucky, I still have my job and am able to work remote

however, I feel some of your pain when I go out, wearing a mask, and constantly cleaning prior to getting back in the car

I hope it gets better for you

I don't know about Texas, but here in Michigan, they're already talking about the terrible 'round 2' of the virus that's supposed to be hitting sometime around September. I'm going to have to buy some softer fabric and see if I can make my own masks...

I have relatives in the medical field.... I know the issues they face right now. I am very appreciative and grateful for the sacrifices our medical peeps are making. I have a good friend who returned back to nursing just to help out with the crisis going on downstate right now. She hasn't been home in a month, likely will not be home until the end of summer. Her wedding was cancelled because of all this.
Unfortunately those scenarios are common regardless of country. The personal sacrifices made by so many truly make them heroes. If everyone would heed the sanctions and restrictions imposed by their local governments, the end to this crisis would be facilitated.

Yeah I wear glasses too, so that and the allergies that have me rubbing my eyes and nose all day make a mask annoying to the point of unbearable. At least when I go out to work most of the time it's to an empty building so I don't need to wear them. I seen the pictures of the medical folks with the bruised up faces from wearing the masks all day, it must suck. Might be better off getting a scuba mask and oxygen tank.
Somehow, I have to find a way to wear my glasses. I'm trying some anti-fog stuff today to see if it will work.

    hmmm... That IS a dilemma
Get one of those plastic shields? 🤔
COVID-19 is airborn, the shield won't protect. I think at this point, the mask is more for protecting others from catching stuff from you.
