How many days in a row am I allowed to cry before it's considered severe depression?

Asking for a friend.....

I have had a lot of things that have wreaked havoc on my emotions the past few weeks.

Death, boot camp, burned bridges, letters from Boot Camp Boy....

Who could have known it would be a bathing suit that would deliver that final, crushing blow, causing my will live wither up and die.

Who designs these things???

I had shield my eyes from the sheer horror of it all!

Boobs spilling out everywhere.....

Fat rolls for miles....

The tears were rolling as I peeled that fucking thing back off my body and threw it into the far corner of my bedroom. If I weren't worried that I would burn the building down, I would have lit it on fire and watched it burn to an ash.

I feel disgusting and broken tonight.

And a little like a pyromaniac.

all the things you've been through require an emotional response and you're not only entitled to have one but you're s'pose to have one. hell, i would.

the bathing suit?? a bathing suit from last year is a no, no. f'k it! forego the suit all together. at the clothing-optional beach no one gives two f'ks about who is wearing or not wearing what. trust me, not a single head would turn. however, i do empathize. find and treat yourself to a better 'suit' that fits real women curves.

Just let it out, you will feel better, as some say stomp and kick( but not heavy hard things, that hurts), let it out scream, cry, then set down and smile.. don't worry about a pound or too, a lot of us are in that boat.. just more to love.. Hope you get better..

What you need is a nice fire pit for your balcony. Throw that swimsuit in the fire pit and watch it burn, baby, burn!!!!! Then try some shopping therapy. Anyone who doesn't like what you're wearing, just tell them to fuck off.

Hmmmm....I know I left that wand around here somewhere!

Cry as much as you need to, its cleansing. Be worried when you start to lose interest in reg things....not sleeping...eating...talking or hanging with friends...being indifferent with the spawn etc. You ve been thru a lot....give urself time...be kind to yourself ..always~

You can burn your bridges and your bras but please don't do it if you're on or in them!

Many years ago during a dark time in my life a friend said something to me. At first I was not happy with what he said and wrote it off as words from a jagoff. A simple statement that took me a long time to really understand what the six simple words meant.
"Life is what you make it"
Life will knock you down and it always is up to the person on what to do next. Death is the hardest to deal with and everyone deals with it. 150,000 moms a year deal with a military enlistment. Burning bridges can set you free or fuck you hard in the long run. Hopefully it sets you free. Go online and find the large female dancing in her bra and panties during a halo ice cream commercial. I think every woman she feel that free in her body. A lot of men enjoy the company of a larger woman.
Cry, when needed and than put a smile on your face and rule your life

Having gone through sending a son off to war I can relate a bit to the stress of having a son where you have no input and or control. Hard to trust his new "family" to be trained and safe as one can be in the military. Hang in there, graduation from boot is a fantastic event and I hope you can go and watch him there. Word of warning, you will not believe how much he eats plus most of the new guys all look very similar, be careful who you take to dinner.
Body issues, yep you can burn the suit or...well find one that is more flattering. None of us are 18 any more plus life changes us. Burn the old suit or, maybe encouragement to start those daily walks, a few sit ups, a few less chips so you will look better in it a year from now. post 4401038
You are not alone when faced with many changes that are unpleasant and feeling out of control and alone. Hang in there, it is ok to have good hard cries, hit pillows, have a pool noodle fight, burn some anger out of your system, just keep an eye on yourself if you start thinking of self destructive things, don't hurt yourself ok?
And, it is ok to find a counselor, and talk. It is not a failure to have to share with someone, your not crazy just a human working thorough a hard time. Your local mental health services may be able to recommend someone who is reasonable in rates and can help act as a compass as you wander/plough your way though this rough patch.
You are worth the effort to move forward

I have SOOO been there with clothes the last few years. I put on a pair of shorts I bought only a year ago and couldn't zip them. I didn't burn them, but wanted to. I still haven't gone out to buy a bigger pair as I know there will be tears in the dressing room. And swim suits are the WORST. I haven't put one on since last Aug and I am avoiding it as long as possible. (((HUGS))) I think I got my last one at "Swimsuits for All" site and was reasonably pleased with some tankini tops and swim shorts that contained my rolls better than other stuff I had found. Treat yourself to a new one and cut yourself some slack. You've had the freight train of emotion rolling over you a lot lately. More ((HUGS))

All of those things you listed are good reasons to be upset, so if you wanna cry, go for it, don't bottle up those feelings. As far as the weight? You need to give yourself a pass. Look around. I would guess about 75% of the population has packed on weight due to Covid and the restrictions, myself included.

IF
you cut your finger you but a band aid on it with no second thought
you brake a bone you run to have fixed with no second thought
you get a toothache you run to a dentist with no second thought
so
why is it when life overwhelms you. you pull up you big boy/girl pants, and battle through it. the best you can
something i always wondered why is it when we are in physical pain, there is no shame in seeking medical attention, but when we are in mental pain, we try to hide it.
so
encourage your friend talk to a mental health professional.
and as for you answer to " How many days in a row am I allowed to cry before it's considered severe depression? " as many as it takes for the hurt to go away.

there is a world of difference between insane and stupid

We judge ourselves way more then we should and when hell is breaking loose all around us, it makes it worse. I recently took a photo of myself to use as a reference for a painting and I'm thinking of just doing a landscape instead.

Cry it out, scream, throw things and then look deep. You've been through a lot, but you are strong. Decide what things you can change and work on them. Anything else will come in time.
