There's a new man in my life....

His is Blu, he's nine years old, and he likes long walks on the leash.

I had popped onto the animal control site to at the kitties, the Spawn has been bugging me get another kitty, when I saw this guy.

And I just couldn't leave him .

They had picked him up as a stray, along with another, and the two of them had been microchipped but the information had been deleted from the chips. They were likely from the home.

The other pupper much younger and easily got adopted.

Poor Blu had been for a while, waiting for me come along.

"Well, what do you think?"

I turned the Spawn had been kind of just standing , silent, while the animal control officer put on her best sales face and tried us this lovable chun You could see she giving her all.

"I can see you aren't really digging him, 's ok say so, you don't feel guilty. is someone else has expressed an interest in him, 'll be o"

I about ready say, 'show me some kitties' when she piped up.

"I love him."

I looked at the officer, she looked at me, and we both turned and looked at the Spawn.

"Ok then, I think we're heading home with a new family member."

The next half hour a flurry of fitting for collars and finding cute leashes, beds and blankets, and in-depth conversations about which toys were his favorites.

For the adoption of $45, I went home with Blu, his collar, a $25 hands free runner's leash, a $35 pillow bed, a $ fleece blanket, a brand new tube of Penn tennis balls, and his 2 favorite toys...

Not going to lie, this pupper is already spoiled.

Happy Saturday!

*UPDATE*

I'm so mad! The site strikes again and my pic was lost in the glitch. Grrr...

So, I'm adding it again. He's too cute not to share.

I missed this post somehow but better late than never! Congrats on the new found family member! Adopting is always a great choice. We at Casa Wrong got a pup from the local shelter over 2 years ago and it reinforced the fact that so many pups, cats and other assorted animals need loving homes.
Our little doggie was 4 when we got him. It was a choice really between two dogs. There was a younger male who was rambunctious as all get out but this little brown boy was the one. We were told he was very shy around men, which is a sure sign of abuse. He warmed to my ex immediately and it took a bit for him to get comfortable around me. Since I'm quiet and the attentive one with pets, Bailey Jr quickly realized I was not going to hurt or bully him. It broke our hearts when he used to flinch at being petted or cower if voices were raised.
Two years later, he rules the roost and shows little to no signs of thar abuse anymore!
I hope Blue enjoys his new family as much as you're loving him!

My name is MrWrong and I approved this comment

Eat the Tilly Cat?? Bite your tongue! LOL He's supposed to be a medium sized dog, but he's really chunky. They weighed him while I was at the shelter and he weighs 70lbs, but he should only be weighing about 40. I've got him on senior weight control dog food that was recommended by the vet.

Thank you. I haven't owned a pupper since I was married, so it's been a while. He is so good, though.

He is so sweet, too. When I come home from work the kitty is sitting on the dryer waiting for me to come in and he now lumbers into the utility room waiting to be petted, staring up at me with his wrinkly face. Love it.

The site stole my pic.... But I did repost it. As for changing his ways, I think he's ok just the way he is. He's definitely my chunky monkey. Don't tell the Spawn I said that, she says I'm not allowed to fat shame him. LOL

Thank you! Not going to lie, it'll be very easy to get used to this little chunky monkey, he's so lovable. He just wants to chew on his toys and get some pets. The Spawn and I, we're a little harder to get used to, I think. LOL

Interesting, because I have a new girl in my life. I came home from work the other day to see a different dog in my house. my first thought was that my roommate had friends over with their dog. Next morning the dog was still there. I ask my roommate about her, and she said she didn't like the way her owner was treating her, chained up outside with just a blanket to lay on, it was getting cold. She never paid attention to her, so she brought her home. Well crap, I really didn't need another dog besides my roommates, but she came over to me and laid her head on my lap and gave me that puppy dog look and now I have a dog. She's happy to see me when I get home and cuddles up in bed at night. Although my cats are not impressed, but they're getting use to her.
They have a way of winning you over, don't they. I sleep with the Tilly Cat at my feet, but that's ok cause Blu likes to sleep with my daughter. Last night was his first night with us, when I got up in the middle of the night, like I always do, he got up with me too and sat by my feet. And I didn't feel so alone.

With animals, you just know. I knew the minute I held the Tilly Kitten for the first time, she was meant to be ours. I didn't even pick her out, she was brought to me by a coworker and it was meant to be. I knew when I saw this pupper's smiley face online, I had to give him a home. Just like with your kitties, you just knew.

So, how are he and Tilly(?) the devil kitten getting along?

Make sure to keep him supervised when he is outside, I would not want you to have to clean him up after he introduces himself to a skunk.

    Merry Christmas.
There's a lot of side-eye and across the room staring, but so far they're doing ok. I'm happy to report that there have been no hissing or barking fits either. We haven't let him off the leash while outside yet, my yard isn't fenced and I'm worried he doesn't know the house yet. On Monday he'll be microchipped with my info, which will make me feel a little better. He already had a microchip, but the info had been wiped clean. I can't understand why anyone would just abandon him.

The Tilly Cat is still eyeballing him from afar. She's starting to accept him, though, will even hang out in the same room his in now. LOL On the plus side, no fighting has occurred at all between the two of them. Just a lot of side-eye and across the room stare downs. LOL

I feel like this was kismet, I tell ya. He has fit right in to our life. Mild mannered, follows my daughter everywhere. I have YET to hear him bark, he never makes a noise. I can tell he's spent time with kids, he's so gentle. But I can also tell he may have been abused to some degree. My daughter and I were goofing around and started yelling back and forth at each other and he just looked at us terrified, we had to stop. He also does not like swinging feet. I was swinging my feet while sitting on the couch earlier and he flinched away, hiding his head under his bed.
