It's been a furious debate over here. The kids who were there in Parkland are leading the charge and making very big plans to get things done. More power to them. I hope they succeed on this and much more. Smart as a horse and hung like Einstein.

How many more innocent children must die before you fuckwits in the US stand up for REAL rights ? It's not the citizens here it is the politicians. Once some of them are shot or the money they get dries up then it will change. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

You are right...I am an avid Hunter and a life time Member of the NRA.. but I have no need for an assault Rifle..I think they need to have a more intense background check on a Person buying a gun.. You can't expect to be Old & Wise..If You were never Young & Crazy!!!

Make American great and safe? Great for the first time people mean. Safe for who? Everybody or just certain colors / religions / nationalities? Humans are the most dangerous animals on earth. If only animals had the ability to know when to keep away from us humans they would be better off.

Fuckwits would be everyone in this country if I understand you correctly.It wasn't that long ago when this country was sending more arms and ammunition than ever before to a particular Island empire and we're fuckwits? Using more than all the road!

Maybe you should be criticizing your own mess in the U.K. before sticking your nose into U.S. issues. The societal problems in the U.K. are far worse than ours.

First, I must confess that I do own several guns. I am a sportsman, target shooter and small time collector. I have been target shooting and hunting 57 years and have never once considered shooting anyone, though there have been several really obnoxious people I would really enjoy punching in the face. That said, some gun control could be a good thing. Background checks-definitely, low capacity fixed magazines (3 to 5 rounds) for all but law enforcement-might help and electric shock on all violent video games so there are consequences for playing (and no reset buttons).

Perhaps part of the background check should include making sure you are not using any type of "social media" like FB, tweeter or instapic

I cannot believe that there are still people out there who seem to condone what continues to happen. There cannot be any excuses! People who are alright one day and apparently fit to own and handle firearms, often turn into those "idiots that are fucked up" the next. So, how would you prevent that? Objecting to stricter gun controls is condoning the status quo!

the 2nd amendment is the right of the people to defend ourselves against a tyrannical government. it has nothing to do with hunting, it has nothing to do with home defense, and the reason it exists is so that the people are as well armed as the government in order to maintain a free state. when the people fear the government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people there is liberty. any law imposing restrictions on what sort of arms the people can and cannot bear is an infringement on the 2nd amendment
