Who Knew SHE waS a VoyeuR... untiL SHE GrinneD at Me...! O !

Last Saturday, 'Comet Lenard' came into view for the first time - in a BILLION years. He was supposedly clearly visible early in the eastern sky, so I thought I'd venture out to the marina over by Lake St. Louis. It's a perfect spot to view a blazing flare as it rips across our galaxy at 158,084 miles per hour.

I knew damp and windy weather was going to greet me so I prepared. I wore my t-shirt, a sweatshirt then my hoody. My legs, I covered in long johns before I slipped on my all-weather khaki pants. My new boots hugged my feet perfectly and my waterproof and toasty winter jacket sealed all cracks. Coffee mug in hand, binoculars in my knapsack, I grabbed the keys to my car and headed out along barren and dark roads - to watch that streaking phenom.

When I arrived, I realized that I wasn't going to be the only voyeur; others were parked... and already waiting. I pulled my hat over my ears, tugged at all my zippers and stepped out onto the slippery parking lot. As soon as I'd swung my door shut - it began to rain, and I mean POUR.

The wind swirled in fierce gusts that caught me off guard as I managed my footing. The ice in the marina - already forming a thick soup - sloshed around in huge white chunks. The rain bit my eyes and cheeks as I tried to peer into the hazy sky. I quickly realized "THIS, is a pointless adventure", and headed back to the warmth of my car. The attractive woman in the white SUV next to me was blasting music as I approached. I made out the lyrics perfectly.

It was Karen, from the Carpenters singing; 'Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit... '

I recognized that tune, it was 'Rainy Days And Mondays'.

It's Saturday, you have the wrong fricken day, and who blasts THAT song? She musta read my mind, looked at me and grinned - then lowered the volume. I would have nodded or smiled back, but I'd dropped my keys in a murky puddle.

A moment later, I'd closed my door and sat there. I watched the rain wash across my windows and listened to the wind howl as drops of beaded water fell from my jacket and soaked my seat. My weather app predicted Sunday would be more of the same crap.

Ya know, a billion years is a long stretch, but I think I'll pass... this time around.

I've left a NEW message for all my friends, and blog readers, on the last page of the comments section. Take care!

Do you ever stare at the midnight sky looking for falling stars... or alien spacecraft? 🤔

Just saying... I've seen THEIR ships!

Have you seen anything interesting? 🤔

I just TOLD you.
Ok, it was a warm July evening - some ten or eleven years ago - around two in the morning. I was on my deck, looking up at the starlit sky when...

Ugh... never mind. You'll never believe me. 😶

It's disappointing when the weather interferes with viewing celestial events. And you were so well prepared too!

After my failed eclipse journey in 2017, I've kind of resigned myself to just enjoying the pictures taken by luckier people.

I do find myself every so often, looking to make a wish on a falling star but hasn't seen one yet.

The Light is shinning and she is lonely and waiting in the darkness.

You remember stuff you posted back in 2017? 😊👍❗

I rarely hold my breath for those galaxy 🌌 thingies, but I figured since I was up early I'd check it out. The internet showed that it was a whitish, bluish blur... lol 😂 I guess I didn't miss much but it would have been nice to say - Hey, I saw that. 😶
I DID see that UFO 🛸 one night and it was HUGE and brilliantly lit. No mistaking it for anything else.
No alcohol had been consumed. 😁❗

I do watch!
Have seen some interesting things and some unexplained things.
Seems like weather hinders most of the big events.
You wouldn’t believe me either. But I’m with you.

Have a great day! 💋

Yeah, things were going out of control out there. Who knows? Maybe I'll see her at the comet? 🤔

Thanks for the tip... and duly noted. The thing is, I'm always up early and I often head by that stretch of lake, so it wasn't a big deal. I'd be REALLY annoyed if I'd had to drive outta my way.
So, celestial events aren't your thing, or ya don't like ta look up 👆? 🤔

I understand EXACTLY what you mean. Even my daughters squinted at me when I recounted THAT sighting to them. 😎 ❗ ❗
I guess we're some sort of fraternity. Although, the CIA is releasing more and more documented sightings by pilots.
Ya think one day we'll be taken seriously?
My ship was fricken HUGE. No way that 'mother' was an air ballon ⚽... lol 😂 😮

Some people seem prone to seeing things ‘up there’ that few others can. To say the least, I have been somewhat skeptical…..until a few months ago. It was very late at night with a darkened, almost black sky. I was awakened by what can best be described as a hovering noise. An orb covered in lights was descending. I blinked a few times, unsure if my imagination was playing tricks on me. I grabbed my phone, clicking away, trying different angles and zooming in closer. Unfortunately, none of the pictures accurately captured what swore I saw.

You're funny... in that 'off the wall' good way.
So ya know Karen do ya? lol 😂 I think I know her as well but her name is Donna. I haven't been on the place for Faces in a while. I got tired of 'liking' those pics of that ballet debut.

Iced coffee ☕? 🤔 Hmmm... I make mine steaming and lug it into the car. Might have something to do with that darn cold weather over here.
Where else ya been flipping around this AM? ❄️❗❗😎

It's a lotta fun fucking with this site.
Especially when this will be one of the LAST times we'll have access to THESE pages.

Some of us will leave. Others will be too confused to make anything work on that NEW configuration. This part of the island 🏝 was never perfect but it worked for me, notwithstanding all the glitches. I won't brag about the fact that the Bobs had my back.
Thanks for the help Bob. And thank you to everyone who stopped by here over the years to share a smile or a tear with me. It's been a lotta fun! 👍 😊

That NEW shoal of sand being prepared? 🤔
I imagine it will improve over time.

Hey everyone... have safe holidays, enjoy your families and stay safe. ❤️
Life is a short ride so let's smile let the small stuff roll off our shoulders.

All the best! ❗ ❗ 😎
Cheers 🍷 🍷

when AI came to surprise visit me we had a torrential downpour in the COLD.

they had to call off the marathon for worries of hypothermia.
she is a boater.
so she was running around in rain boots and a wool sweater.
said wool was great for the rain.

i never seem to time watching these great night events.
we are far from the city but i can't quite angle myself in the night sky.
one night we did see the international space station go by...

we are in the flight pattern of the US Army.
there is an Army Airfield here.
both smaller aircraft and the jumbos for transporting troops.
hearing a few planes is one thing...
LOTS of planes is quiet another.

and then the planes eventually come home.

Sounds to me like you have a perfect night sky to gaze at. I've seen that space station drift by as well. It's cool, huh?
If you stare at those stars long enough, you'll surely see it OTHER things whizz by. 😊
All you need is a comfortable chair and some pleasant company to share those dark moments with.
Can you build a small fire where you you are?
Sounds idyllic. 👍😎❗❗
Enjoy the EVE... 🎉🥂😊
