Some people are so uptight that they are always on the lookout for what they consider as excessive erotic talk. Please don't let me be misunderstood.

I have to agree with majority on this one..... don't talk about your private life at work - like problems with the kids, how attractive the neighbor is, problems with the spouse, or bf, especially hush it on your sex life, at work. Just about anything sets people off today. A third party overhearing , or maybe the coworker you were talking with , could turn you in. Don't be thinking you can trust men won't turn you in,...Men are out for payback now, for women messing up and adding extra stress to the "Working" hours, and pretending to be your coworker friend. Garrison Keil [age 74 at the time], a Minnesota radio personality , thought he had a female friend coworker, but one day, she was telling him how upset she was over something, he invited her to be hugged, she went in, but his hand accidentally brushed up against the bare skin of her back...he apologized, she said not to worry about it.....and by the end of the day , he was fired. Don't trust women to be on your side , either... women are vicious against each other, and men, and will get women fired for this stuff. Especially if she can make some money from the situation. If men can't talk about sex , or R-rated comments at work , nor show R or X rated pictures at work, then neither can women. ....Such a shame, too, as we spend so many thousands of hours a year making a living , at these places, and someone comes along to make us even more stressed out , regarding what we say, what we might be understood to say, where we look, how long we look, etc.

Avoid "Openess" at work... safe that for your private life.

That was the subject of a TV discussion a few weeks ago. It was a bit of an eye-opener. Essentially just about anything can be construed as sexual harassment if the "recipient" wants it to be. So a casual, well-intended, seemingly innocent "that's a nice skirt" or "I like your hair" can be considered sexual harassment if the person being spoken to thinks it is. And this will be regardless of gender and sexual preference of either party. Looks like it is impossible to give someone a genuine compliment these days. I tried to compliment someone at work on their lovely, bushy moustache and suddenly she's not my friend any more. It has got to the stage where I'm scared to talk to the self-scan in the supermarket in case it thinks I was sexually harassing it.

I would agree with the others here. Keeping it private may be the better thing to do. One never knows those who might not care for they portray you to others or how, rumors can begin and get blown out of proportion.
