The temps of late have been all over the map, in the forties on day and the next in the seventies. An rain every day. I'm so tired of getting wet while doing my job. On Monday my work shoes got soaked and they still aren't dry. Tuesday I wore my boots, bad choice as I remembered why I don't wear them any more once I got home that night...Blisters. Yesterday, I wore my new sneakers yeah now they are soaked as well. A bit dirty as well. As I was cleaning basement stairwells and on good days those things are bad. It's like crawling under your back wood deck and sweeping it down kind of mess , the same thing really. Mud , leaves, spiderwebs etc.

I figured once I got to the two stairwells that were replaced this past summer that they would be an easy job. Yeah, no. Well, I did get lucky on the one the contractors actually cleaned up their mess. The other one? Where as the new three story decking looked great, all the new wood etc. The foundation was as it always was. Old bricks where the cement between the joints is turning to dust. With the rains we've been getting the place was a mud pit. All the saw dust, and silt seeping through the cracks mixing with the rain water, well lets just say a pig would have been happy in the lower half of the place below ground. To top it all off there were no lights, you guessed it the old ones removed to put in the new decking and never replaced.

As much as a pain in the but it was working these past few days was, I've completed my list the boss left for me of things to do before he left for his vacation in the woods and now have nothing to do. With seventeen hours left in the work week I've got three maybe that I can fill with things to do. Ugh! I hate being idle...I'll figure something out I suppose?

I'm off to shower now....
