I'd get out the full set of patio furniture but it takes too much room up on the back porch. Besides I really don't need it, with just me here a couple of chairs and the small table is just fine. I have the extra chair in case someone drops by, and the small table is good enough to set my coffee cup down on while I read the paper in the morning. My back porch is more of a pass through for the other apartments in the building. So there isn't that much room for a lot of stuff.

Well, today the state is opening up, that is to say bars and eateries are allowed to host people without observing the distance rule. Most stores you can shop at and do so with out a mask as long has you have been vaccinated. Though how they can tell if you have or haven't been is beyond me? I'm sure there will be those who haven't been and will be without a mask, so for now I'll keep mine on at least while shopping. I still feel kind of oogy after my second shot. Though it's not as bad as it was. No work for me today as I have the day off for the holiday, the down side to that is double the work when I go in tomorrow.

The local amusement park is opening up for the summer full time today as well. I'm sure they will have their usual fireworks display as always. The beaches as well will be open and life guards manning the stations. Swimming permitted, but it's still a bit chilly for my tastes to be taking a dip in the lake. The teenagers like countless generations before them are bugging State Street and the Public Dock, and have been in the news as of late. I guess this new crop of kids are going over board with their fun. Tail-gating cook-outs, drag racing, and being too loud for the folks who run businesses down at the landing that have already filed complaints with the local PD. The kids will settle down, they always do. Like I said it's been going on for generations now. Coming out of this past year of not being able to get out and enjoy the summer the rowdy ones are just wound a bit tighter is all. Once more things open up for them to do ( Drive ins etc ) the activity down at the dock will get back to normal.

Summer is here, and to quote the Beatles song..."Here comes the sun, it's been a long cold lonely winter" It seems like winter lasted all last year...time for us all to get out and enjoy the sun again!

Happy Memorial Day People!

Schools here are still requiring masks, but then again not much longer till they are let out for summer. They figure by next year ( fall ) most of the kids will be vaccinated and the on again off again school schedule will be a thing of the past along with masking up for the kids. We had a cold start to the weekend here, rain on Saturday and only getting into the 50's temp. wise. Sunday and Monday were a bit better, at least there was no rain. But still a bit chilly out, too cold for an old guy like me to sit on the back porch, so my patio stuff never made it out of storage. Maybe next weekend? Have a good one Cowboy.

I see SO many people partying as though there is no tomorrow. It makes me take a step back.
