No, not to open presents. But just to wake up and get ready to go in to work. Aside from the tree in my living room bedecked with all the ornaments and lights, the gifts piled high under it, well it's a typical Saturday for me. Having been off these past few days for the holiday and a few vacation days I'm back to work this morning.

There are a number of us out there, people who have to go in and do our job just like it was a normal day. People who work in the health care field, law enforcement, or fire protection. Even a few more like me who have to make sure buildings and such are clean and ready for use by others.

Do I mind going in to work? Not really. Frankly with the time off I've had these past few days I've gotten sore just loafing about. There is some truth in the old adage "if you don't use it you loose it ". At least for me in this case. My job is very physical I'm use to moving about more and getting a work out while performing my job tasks. Sitting idle I get stiff and sore ( it's hell getting old ) So the hour or so cleaning the laundry and office spaces today will work some of the kinks out for me.

So, while most of the world is still in bed, dreaming of dancing Sugar Plums or something of that nature. I'd like to take the time to say thank you and happy holidays to those of you who have to work today. With out you doing what you do while others take the day off the world would be a dreary place indeed. Happy Holidays!

Time for me to hop into my shower now.....
