Ghosting

Here is a topic that I know several members in this site are curious about.
Why do people ghost other people? I know this has happened to many females I know. Dies it happen to men as well? When did this become a thing? And why?

 I’ve never ghosted. Have been ghosted.

I don’t know why people do it. I just chalk it up as people proving they are t worthy of my time. 🤷‍♂️

When did this become a thing? no idea

And why? I imagine there are many depending on the people involved
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

 who knows why i it happens. I suspect the keyboard thugs arent worth chyt! I always know we cant be everyones cuppa tea, yet i dont understand why we cant talk about it.
Funny...i just this week emailed a friend about this....and his response was..." i would never just cease conversations, i have too much respect". Respect for himself....respect for me....lol. Who knows ~

I have never and i will never ghost....but yes....i have been ghosted. Not a good feel.

 Two explanations:
1 - We've been taught to avoid conflict so it is easier to just fade away.
2 - We're chicken.

 It seems to happen to people often on this site. There are just too many flakes and fakes.

 It happens more commonly when a face picture is shared.
I have always avoided that drama.
Most no replies come from having a face pic.
Which alleviates any conversation even starting for
ghosting to happen.
Using more than all the road!

 I have ghosted, I met a lady and she was a lady on a dating site. I had three dates with her and I must admit I liked her very much. The problem was after the second date she told me I had to call her every night at a specific time. In reality this may not have been so bad but my dog was going in for surgery and needed me to help her walk. If there would have been at least an hours window I would still probably be with this lady to this day. Things happen in life, we are not always in control of everything and every moment. Respect is the key.
