How do you break the ice?

I have used Tinder and dating in the past but usually end up with tons of matches that either sit idle or when I message it is usually a weak introduction that never makes it to the first date. I have had success with gaining more matches by removing my "about me" information and replacing it with troll satire material. This did not improve my ability to land a first date but it increased my views and matches.

Not to be taken seriously ended up getting more responses than the traditional "Hi my name is Mike". I have come to the conclusion that it is not so much what you say, but what you do not say. I am interested in hearing what people have to say about what lines work the best in different situations. What is the most likely way to land you a first date?
