Fakes, Flakes and Shakes

Okay so I was going for a catchy headline. I am not a person who likes to focus on the negatives but I have come to the understanding that a one picture female profile is equal to some lame dude fishing for points or getting thrills out of deceiving people.

Example: IM is full of these people. I see profiles and usernames that are very forward about wanting to chat or meet someone yet there is nothing but crickets if you ever reach out to them. That is why I do not get my hopes up and actually enjoy giving out compliments to total strangers who live too far away from me to actually meet. The real ones will reply back with at least a thanks. It makes my day to know I put a smile on someone else's face.

Last week I reached out for points in return for something special. I had three wonderful women follow through. One replied back from my request with the information I need to do something for her. This week while at the beach I was able to follow through with that special gift (non sexual) and look forward to hearing back from her when she receives it in the mail.

I am in pretty good shape for a 50 year old man. I may not have six pack abs, but I also am not potbellied. I am tall and confident in myself and treat others the way I wish to be treated. Can honestly say I don't think there are many others like that on here. For people who reach out to me, whether for friendship with a mutual interest or even those who guys have read my profile stating that I am a straight male but still try to see if I would be interested, which I would not be, I still treat them with respect and give them a reply. I'm a people person, and this place, this username, those sometime trying people will not change me. I can look back over my life and smile knowing I have tried my best to be that person who has a positive outlook on life.

How do you treat others? What have been your experiences on IM? and do you have an optimistic opinion of this site or are you just merely killing time while soaking in a little sexual entertainment?

By the way, I am the same on app games like Words with Friends. Met a wonderful single mother with a positive attitude that lives far far away and she too will be receiving a special gift. I am even going to surprise her with a bonus gift for her daughter. I really hope she meets someone special because she is such a positive, sweet and deserving person.

The IM is a crap shoot, it's the first place the scammers hit, after getting their fake profiles approved.

You mean there is an approval process? Looks to me like a lot of them don't have much information period. One thing I am doing now is checking to see if they have a blog page before IMing. The fakes are normally to lazy to have a blog.

I do not IM for a couple of reasons: usually it is out of sync LOL and the folks that IM me are not the caliber I chose to learn to know. So that makes me choosey or snobby- so be it. Life is too short to justify everything. I am having a good time on here. I have met several members in person and kept a few of them as friends. I'd like to meet some of the bloggers in person who have encouraged me, and chatted with me over the months. This site like life is exactly what one makes of it- smile and make someone's day

You are right on all accounts, especially the one about it is what you make of it. I got to meet one of my best blogging friends several years ago before she left the site. We had dinner together and then went out to a night club dancing. It was so much fun and because we were blogging buddies it was just like meeting an old friend you have not seen in a long time. Very fun.

FWIW, I have found the number of pics to be only a hint as to the possibility of a profile being "fake". I've met several women who only had pic.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

If you have met some you are lucky, you must live in a more active area. I do like AZ.

My profile doesn't have any pictures...yet I'm quite real. I have a blog that's been on this site for a number of years. I've met a couple of the bloggers plus a number of others from this site. I don't spend much time on IM because it's just so messed up. Also it seems most of the messages I get are from people I'm not really interested in, but I usually try to be polite to them.

Hmmmm....I know I left that wand around here somewhere!

Having a blog helps a person to see if someone is legit even if they do not have a picture. Those scamming are to lazy to have a blog. Also you can tell a lot about someone by their blog.

I've met one "real" woman that didn't even have one pic. Another that had one pic. Can't really judge by how many, or how few pics they have.

I get tons of IM messages. Some from real people, some from real scammers. LOL. I'll usually respond with at least a not interested.

Yes, the IM scammers always go away when I ask them to do a 20 second cam. And if they start with an offline email address I do not even bother.

I have to ask,, why are you sending gifts to these women so soon?

Daytimer09B replies on 10/6/2018 8:42 am:
The Words with Friends person is simply a super nice person who I have played games against for a little while. She is so upbeat that I really enjoy chatting with her on the messaging part of that app. I wanted to return the smile she gives me with her positive attitude. The ones on here gave me points when I posted a post that I will work for points. The gift is a simple thank you and it is something that I can use my creative talents to make and is something that will brighten their home or office. I get as much happiness out of giving as they do receiving. Does that answer your question?
