Yes, we all must keep up with changes. Hopefully these changes in tech will be for the better. Happy Thursday!!

what is left for me to do? Well first don't atrophy . .etc . ol' western ghost town. Before you atrophy come (and/or cum) west to the town I'm in. It has atrophied a bit but isn't a ghost town. We even have a Harbor Freight store opening here. How are we supposed to keep up with this rapidly moving technology and not get left behind? Do you actually have to? I'm doing very well with a non-smart phone, a laptop and deal mostly in CASH. IMO the crypto thing smells like a scam and sure inst stable by any means and could end up in a crypt. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I like you was perhaps a generation too late. I long for the days of the 60's & 70's. I have a friend slightly younger than myself who is stuck in the 50's. I call him Fonzie for a number of reasons. I was in the second class back in the 70's when they first started to offer what was then callled 'Computer Sciences' in the 10th grade. I hated it as I could do math etc. faster than the computer in my head. I thought it was just going to be a fad, like the Pet Rock. Boy was I ever wrong. So wrong that not only did I abhor/hate the stupid computer science, I ignored it, waiting for it to go away and die. When I was working, I didn't even know how to e-mail till 2005. I hated technology. I prefer a face to face meeting. Carburetors man... that's what life's all about.... *hugs*

I would say it's the circle of life, but we are living in extraordinary times. I remember setting up the new state of the art audio/video stuff that my dad would buy because I was young and up to date on the new tech. Technology only gets exponentially more sophisticated as time goes by. We are literally on the verge of ion warp engines, teleportation, genetically-modified super soldiers. Artificial intelligence is an anxiety-ridden, paranoia-inducing ball of techno-worms all by it's lonesome... I don't know if we should try to keep up with it, or try not to get killed by it! LoL In a lot of ways, our technology has far surpassed the science fiction gadgets that were in the books, movies, and tv shows I devoured as a kid. I say just play with whatever they come up with after the younger people show us how!

Basically this willall burn itself out. Think of all resources being used and pollution being caused just to have the internet. Look up Keith Woods' video "why Capitalism needs infinite growth." He puts forth his ideas very rationally and succinctly.

Earth will be absorbed by the sun, in about 7.5 billion years — I wouldn't worry about things like technology. It'll be irrelevant by then. 🍷🍷❗😎 ... is there another way to look at it Going Too Fucking Far NEW Blog Features RevealeD O O A Foolproof Method Posted Over on that NEW site O O

Jules, I've pondered this for some time and am also concerned at the rapid pace of the tech world and my almost standing still as a learner. Everything is moving so fast. I feel like the tortoise. I guess finding some kids who can try to explain all the new tech stuff might help. *LOL* You're not alone, trust me. Bud Always Ready for Fun.

.....in a land full of technological wonders, we are continuing as a people to plunge into the great digital divide..... but for those that pay attention, there are hidden benefits to be enjoyed.... ...while those in the know go techno this and techno that, there is a growing void waiting to be filled.... for all that techno is a great divider of people from other people.... they live in the techno bubble... somewhat devoid of the tender touches and intimate shared secrets.... constantly checking their like status for fear of being left behind....the possibility of relationships degenerate into discrete transactions... momentary happiness followed by more solitary interactions with the outside world.... ....but for those paying attention, there are wonderful opportunities to interact in the world of real.... friendships... relationships... lovers... those craving human interaction reaching out to each other .... exploring the all but forgotten discourse of a gentleman and a lady.... the coy but very obvious flirtation of nascent lovers perhaps just beyond the shadow..... the letters... the phone calls .... and yes, sigh, even the texts.... ...now don't get me wrong.... most have always enjoyed techno advances.... but the selection of what you choose and how you weave them into the fabric of your life is important... besides, when you are 80.... it may be interesting to invite your hot single young neighbor over to help you with your techno challenge... wink... ...carpe diem.... tumbleweed out....

So long as you've got curiosity, the learning will take care of itself... we're familiar with the skills to move forward into the tech future, even if we're not familiar with the tech itself! Not that I'd turn down a young mortal from the new age, mind you.

the rate of change in new technologies really perplexes me but in the end I think I will find that dead end town... in the sunshine.... and just sit back and watch the world whiz by

I must say I love trying to stay on that cutting edge. But one must plan for the future and that's why I started online stock accounts for the Grands in 2010 and now have a team of tech supporters. Lol one whom talked me into partnered up with him a couple of year ago mining crypto. BTW What a really well written and knowledgeable post you wrote while tumbling along.

I'd love to be able to come back every 25 years or so to see what advances each generation has made. Technology is perhaps the best way we have as a whole to ensure any sort of long term future. Embrace it McJules, or me, even better (for me at least! )

I was into BC in 2011. Can you believe that. I remember I told a lawyer friend about it and she said it sounded like a scam. You have a very interesting thought process, a certain awareness that indicates you will not be. left behind. One thing of note. There is the existence of what might be called "spiritual technology" which will always be relevant. i.e. meditation etc. In fact, the top techno thinkers aspire to merge the two. will they be able to do so. have they in some capacity done so? well, we can only live our microcosmic lives and seek to be as strong and wise as possible. cheers. *. *. *
