Got a call last night from an FWB, who moved away a couple of back. While the benefits moved with her, the friendship remains, and we still talk fairly regularly. She broke up over the weekend, with her boyfriend and wanted to talk, complain, bitch, cry, and talk about times. I listened, agreed,(she always made good points), and gave her the reassurances that she needed.
Somewhere in the middle of the conversation, she mentioned she still missed me at times, because the sex was always fun. I countered with, I hope she didn't mean funny, like when the lady laughs when you first take off your pants. 
( paraphrasing her comment)
She laughed and said, "no, while I remember a lot of passionate and romantic love making, I also remember that lots of times, it was like we were having fun. Doing silly stuff, laughing so hard we had to stop and regroup. Like the time you fell off the bed trying a new position. Or you burning dinner and setting off the smoke alarms, because we got carried away chasing each other around the house. Playing in the pool, playing on the beach. It was just usually fun, which always turned me on."
After she hung up, I was thinking about the conversation, and this part stuck in my head. While I've always considered myself a laid back, fun loving kind of guy and certainly the romantic type and definitely passionate. But to be honest, I've never really consciously thought about making sex "fun", or the distinctive differences in any of the times I've had sex. It is more of a, we're having fun, laughing, playing turning into touching, touching leading to sex. Just a natural extension of who I , and me being me. Then there are times, when the mood is quiet, I find myself lost in "her" eyes, and enjoy the quiet, soft, romantic love making. While I have been known to set a romantic environment, I have to say, most of the time it's more of a result of the interaction that's going on at the moment. Not a planned response.
So, after that long preface, do you enjoy "fun sex" or romantic sex better? Both? Do you find yourself planning it to go only one way? Women do you enjoy/get turned on by light hearted "fun sex", as much as my FWB apparently did?
This is an easy one, because from where I stand, there are no wrong answers.

As a musician of sorts, it's always a bummer when we lose another legend. Sad to hear about Aretha Franklin, moving on today. That lady had a set of pipes. First lady to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. She may have left this world, but she'll always live on. Peace
