You took her where on the first date?

I've been swamped lately, with family stuff and work, so I haven't posted in a few days. I had typed this out Monday and was gonna post it, but had to run up to the hospital. So I thought I'd post it today.

You always hear that fact is at times stranger than fiction. Lot's of times, it can also be funnier. I was reading the news this morning and there was an article on bad first dates. Well, it said it was an article, it was really just a little tidbit of one lady and her bad first date.

Still, it was worth mentioning, and got me thinking about some of my meets from here, vanilla sites and the ever fun setups from my friends. The story went like this.

Seems she met this guy on a dating site. For their first date the guy tells her to wear something black. It's gonna be a surprise. Which she thought sounded sorta romantic. Things were going well after he picked her up, good conversation. He seemed nice. Well until they pull up to a crematorium. Seems he needed a date to bring to his grandmothers funeral. She say's he told her, "Thought if I told you , you wouldn't come" LOL, ya think?

As she put it, she didn't want to be a total bitch, so she stayed for the service. That right there is a trooper ladies and gents. I'm not sure I would have been so accommodating.

While I think I've had some not so great first dates, I'm completely outclassed by this one.

I've had a couple of crazy ones. I did a blog about a first date with a setup, from a friends wife. Spent the entire dinner listening to her bitch about every race, religion, or person not like her. Not much fun, but still not as bad as this poor lady.

I've had one that showed up not looking anything like her picture. I mean, not even close. At least 15 years older, way heavier, and hell even shorter. Why would a woman lie about her height? LOL Then she screamed at me the whole way as I was heading back to my car. I told her, it wasn't the age, wasn't the difference in body, or even the fact she was at least 7 inches shorter than she said. It was the fact she chose to lie to me about everything.

I actually put something in my old profile about her. Read something like , if one of us needs to wear a giant yellow sombrero so we can find each other in the restaurant, there's a problem.

Over all though, I would say the vast majority of first dates I've had went off pretty well. We've known each other a bit, through messaging and at least texts, if not phone calls.

Have you ever had the first date from hell? I'm assuming no one else has ever been to a funeral on a first date, but these days, I try not to be too surprised by anything. LOL

I'm sure my bad first dates are pretty tame, but wondering if anyone can top being taken to a surprise funeral on a first date.

Another blogger had this one as well.... I was going to blog about a true first meet from Hell from this site...

I can not fathom people like this... ever!! I have blogged prior knowing you about meeting a man from this site. In a restaurant, when I first joined. He knew it was strictly a meet as I never have sex, nor go with anyone right off the bat and we had been talking for at least three weeks prior.

After lunch we walked out to the parking lot. I walked, as the meet was in my town. There was no sexual nor other chemistry for me, so I shook his hand to say Goodbye.. He became aggressive, and tried to force me into his car.

I kneed him in the balls and dropped him and when he dropped, ran back into the restaurant and called the police.

Now you know why I blog or have trouble with men who try to dominate me....Between him and my ex husband....I rest my case......

One can never have enough JOY in their life...

Ok....I'd rate that one worse than being taken to a funeral. Good for you, on your reaction.

First date from here was hell ! This was just before I met strummingfingers. The man was polite and a great conversationalist. We had texted and spoken several times on the phone. He wanted to take me to Toronto for dinner (I live 45 minutes outside of Toronto) He picked me up a a mall near my house (I didn't want a stranger knowing where I live). I made it very clear I would be paying for my dinner and there would be no sex that night. Long story short, after dinner he said if I didn't go to a hotel with him, then he wouldn't take me home. He left me in Toronto and thankfully I called a friend and she came to get me. Trust no one, no matter how nice they are

I don't think I've had enough first dates to have an awful one yet, lol. Actually, all have been pretty good.

Although...this might count...sooo...in college I was seeing a guy (read that as we were fuck buddies), and he agreed to go out with my friends and me to celebrate my 21st birthday. We'd never been out together, so I guess you could call it our first date, haha. Anyways, we were bar hopping so I could collect my free drinks, and ended up at a place with dancing...he didn't want to dance, then vanished while I was dancing with a friend. When we were ready to leave, we found him in a car with another girl. They weren't doing anything at that moment, but still. Totally tacky dude. We parted ways, needless to say.

That's the part that I always wonder about. Anyone can seem charming and nice...but then, is it just an act to get what you want. That's some real BS there.

Yeah, more and more, mine are sounding pretty tame.

The vast majority of mine have all went really well too. Of course, I haven't threatened any of them to get sex, so that apparently puts me out in front of some of these bozo's.

That would count as a bad first date ..I think. I dated a lady on match a long while back. She told me a story of her date taking her to the river to swim. Then turns out he invited another lady too, and was making out with her. LOL And guys wonder why we get a bad rep.

My 2nd meet from here was on an approach to HIA (Hell International Airport) but I didn't crash. First, her car had crapped out so I pick her up at her place. She didn't look like the picture because it was over 10 years old - but she didn't look terrible either. I should have left then, but noooo. Next, her friends came by so we all went out together - they got stoned (I don't smoke). I should have left then, but noooo. We went to cowboy type places - I'm not the cowboy type. Wooo hooo. When we got back she wanted to "mess around" flopped on to the couch and . . . passed out. I threw a blanket over her and finally . . . left.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

August 2, 1991 - while it wasn't exactly hell, it was not a good introduction .....

I was set up on a blind date by a couple of coworkers. I wasn't worried about safety so I agreed he could pick me up. The plan was dinner and a movie. He was 30 minutes late. Before dinner was over, I had heard his entire life story. He talked so long that we had missed the movie start time and had to catch the next show. He fell asleep in the theater. He snored. He did walk me to my door but was back at the curb, after a hasty cheek kiss, before I could even turn around and say good night.

I ended up marrying the guy!

I really don't get why people think no one will notice their pictures are 10 to 15 years old. LOL At least someone got some use out of the presents.

Can't say as I've had dates from hell. Just dates that are extremely boring, or where it was clear dude is just biding his time, doing just enough to get some sex.

I'm fortunate not to have had these types of stories. I'm definitely fortunate to have avoided a story like this, Reasons why.

So surprised any woman agrees to be picked up for a first date. I thought everyone knew to meet somewhere in a public setting. Same for a man. If he drives, he’s stuck with her until he takes her home.

Lots of first dates for me. Never really creepy, quite a few times...really boring. I hate it when I have to keep the conversation going on my own. Of course, some didn’t look quite like their pictures, even if I asked for a recent one before meeting. Guess you need to be specific when you say “recent”. Funny, when you walk into the agreed upon place and you don’t recognize anyone. Once a man asked if I was disappointed that he wasn’t the other guy sitting nearby. I reluctantly lied and said I wasn’t. Lol

For a time, many were leading to second and even more dates. Been a while. Not sure if I’m getting more picky or the selection isn’t what it used to be.

I agree with your first sentence completely. I always insist the first date is a "'both" drive kind of meet. Public. Mainly to put her at ease. But I think that's how all women should handle it. You never know when that nice guy online is gonna become your worst nightmare.

Besides that one I described, I've never been on a date where we didn't recognize each other from our pics.

I had a creepy first meet when I hadn't been on here long. Like others have said his picture was at least 15 years old but at the time I didn't realize people posted old pics like that. That wasn't the worst part though. For some reason he decided to share with me that he liked to put on a skirt for his buddy and turn out the lights so that his buddy could pretend he was a woman and take him from behind. That was entirely TMI for me so I am much more selective about who I will meet, and first meets are always in public.

This sounds like the plot of a romantic comedy. Who could play the parts? Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock? Or are they too old? Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence? They are a safe bet...box office gold actually.

I am not remembering any strange first dates but just strange ways to meet. I have been lucky I realize in not running into any serious nutjobs. There was one guy who was enormous!!! He had a cute profile pic on a normal dating website and we had flirted for a while. He did list his height as 6'8" but I thought it was a typo. Nope. He looked like a bear. But a cuddly one. He was quite the pot head actually and we were fooling around and he could not perform. He was probably 10-15 years younger than me too. I was not interested in a second meet. But he kept messaging me. Although he did not give the vibe off of being a stalker nutjob I had a little paranoia about it so I mentioned that my brother and uncle would be visiting me over the next few weeks. It actually was not a lie as my brother was visiting every other weekend from Maine. The huge dude finally stopped messaging me after a few months. I swear his photo was so freaking babylike cute and the magnitude of the guy was just startling.

Haha...what could you call the movie..Blind Date in Black...

At least he got the hint and stopped. Nothing worse than a stalker. haha.

Or nice woman....from what I’ve heard there are some scary women out there!!

One first (and only) meet from here was....interesting. We’d been talking here for a few weeks and decided we’d meet for coffee to see if our chemistry was as good in person as it was online. We’d exchanged pics so we knew what eachother looked like. I was sitting in the coffee shop waiting when a man walked up to me and called me by my name. I looked up and was like ummm yes? He introduced himself only to get a from me. I was totally confused....this is where it goes very wrong and I’d like to point out that I’m not racist in the least. I have many friends of different races. But this man was white.... yes white. His profile, and erotic profile photos, were of a black man. As was the face photos he’d sent me. Needless to say the date ended right there. “I thought you’d like me more as a black man” was his reasoning! Like wtf did you think I'd never notice?!?! And if he’d lie about his race, what wouldn’t he lie about.... 🤔

LOLOLOL. And the winner of the best response goes to you!!!!!!

That is just the craziest, funniest thing I've ever heard. LOL. What the hell was this guy thinking? Oh wait...thinking might not have been his strong point , obviously.

Thanks for sharing that.
