Random Lyric of the Week: The Beatles

The best band ever, I could do a random Beatles lyric every day for a year! Those of us were listening back then remember the great Beatles conspiracy, that Paul was killed in a car crash and secretly replaced. This week's song I am the Walrus was one often cited for containing clues. Although many Beatles songs contained social commentary and messages, others were nothing but word salad like this....

Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna
Man, you should seen them kicking Edgar Allen Poe

The White Album's Glass Onion has John telling the listener...
Well here's another clue for you all, the walrus was Paul
're a lot of other "clues" from Beatle's songs and album covers used as evidence for this bizarre theory.

"Where words fail, music speaks." Hans Christian Anderson

lotsa LSD, real LSD, not the crap going around today, could perhaps account for the salady lyrics

Humanity peaked during the 20th century.
We can't even make a decent starter solenoid any longer.

No doubt the LSD had to be a factor. The last time I dropped acid was the night Lennon was assasinated. I had Monday Night Football on when Howard Cosell made the announcement and was just gutted. The rest of the night we listened to his music hoping I'd imagined it all.

Probably the best there ever will be.
For a year? I'd say there is enough material lyrics there for years...

And if you played 'Revolution 9', the message was ; 'turn me on dead man.' 😶
I had a reel-to-reel and recorded that song, then played it backwards — fricken wild.

Yep, there won't EVER be another band — that even comes close. ❗❗😎

I still have my old Akai reel to reel, not sure why I never did that...maybe one of these days.
Hard to believe they were only together for seven years considering the shear quantity of material they produced. And the QUALITY! Is there another group that could come out with an album of #1 hits? Maybe the Rolling Stones??? I got to see Sir Paul in Charlotte two years ago on his Egypt Station tour, his voice isn't what it once was, but damn was it a GREAT SHOW!

I had to look it up. With 19 #1 hits, only one behind The Beatles is Mariah Carey. Mariah Fucking Carey! ~^~

The Beatles had 20 Number One hits and 34 that hit the Top Ten. Mariah Carrey had 28 Top Ten, in addition to her 18 Number One songs.

But that's, besides the point. The Beatles were innovators and the creators of a new style of recording and writing music. In addition, there is no denying — no two Beatles songs sound alike. You can't say the same about Mariah.

Notwithstanding 'records' and hits — blah, blah, blah — The Beatles will be untouchable, for their originality, their musical genius, and for weaving lyrical masterpieces, that transcend the 'charts'. For musicians, music historians, lovers of music and anyone who knows ANYTHING about writing music — The Beatles will ALWAYS remain the standard with which, all other bands will be measured against.

Then again, to each his own, right? Otherwise, how does one explain some of the pure shit — playing on the radio these days? 🤔

Oh, wait a minute... they've run outta ways to string notes together. 😎 ❗ ❗

(*I play piano and drums. Have you ever checked out the sheet music for a Beatles tune? Crazy chords... I mean fricken wild.*)

You'll get no arguments from me. It's almost unbelievable that the guys went from the pop they did pre '65 to the ground breaking music they created 65-70! I've never played an instrument so I don't read music but I've got a good ear and have almost everything they've done including the EP's.

Next month Peter Jackson's Let It Be documentary is coming out. It's from 65 hours of film from '69 that's "never been seen". The trailer came out today & DAMN does it look good! They're all so young! Of course we all were.

Thanks for the heads up.
I've watched ALL, of the Beatles flicks and documentaries, and, most recently, (*couple of four years ago *) Ron Howard's take on the foursome; with his movie — 'Eight Days a Week.'
I'll keep my eyes peeled for that NEW point of view. I'm sure I'll enjoy the ride, I always have and I always will! 👍 😊
