Fully vaccinated with a booster too. As to where i live, unvaccinated is still pretty high. Vacation ?? What's that ?? Nope, have worked the entire pandemic. No omicron here but st. louis is only 100 miles away. Just a matter of time. Have traveled with using precautions and such. Meet up with a stranger ?? Doubtful. IF i was to meet someone, they would have to be vaccinated too.

I had my booster jab last Tuesday, according to science it´s the only thing (besides of distance, washing hands longer than 20 seconds, wearing an FFP2 face mask and only seeing a handful persons  ) to be a kind of safe.Christmas vacation will start on coming Thursday, two trips are planned - but we will be very flexible. If there is a risk, we will stay at home. Last year, there was an ad by the German government, that real heroes were these, who stayed at home in that crazy Covid-19 times (reflected in that ad from people 30 years later  ).Anyway: we will have enough to read, to talk, to eat, to watch, to walk in nature, to play together and most probably find a way to cuddle. Whatever happens here in Germany, food retailers, drugstore, gas stations and pharmacies will be open, and I will not lose my job (was a good decision starting this job last year, just in time). I hope the same for you, Joy and all other visitors of this blog. How is your situation? I’ve been doubly vaccinated, but I haven’t had my booster yet. There are many people that will still never get any shots and will never be convinced to get one at all. When I did that anti-vaccine post last month, you saw first hand just how angry people got about having to get vaccinated. It’s their life and their choice, but they should be required then to wear a mask when they are indoors and close to people. I don’t think they need to wear it outdoors unless they are around crowds of people. Funny women are incredibly sexy!

not on a Christmas vacation, just staying at home, am turning down a free meal and a get together with some friends tomorrow since if i got to where the dinner is being held, i may just end up sick, has happened a few years in a row, but with all of the variants going around it is better to err with caution rather than coming home and spending the days sick in bed

I'm sorry your business is being affected again. Hopefully you'll be able to pivot again to the clients you had last shut down. I'm getting my booster tomorrow so I'll be feeling relatively protected -- although I'm generally fairly cautious I'll meet with people still ... but it will likely be outdoors or in an empty cafe. I invested in warm clothes last lockdown ... so I'm good to go this one. Best wishes to you this holiday season. I'm thinking of your children recovering from the flooding and now having to deal with Omicron on top of it all. Not fun! That meme is funny, and a bit depressing. The good news is that, with different variant names, we’ll be able to reuse it for this time, next year (that is “good”, right?). ‘Cuz we ain’t learning the lesson(s) very well. I haven’t looked at the breakdowns here, but 2 or 2-and-a-half weeks ago, the case-counts had jumped up to twice what they had been for the previous while. It’s a more “efficient” variant, it appears. I won’t be eligible for a booster for a month or so. But, it seems like we would be better served by doing a better job of getting the entire globe with one shot, but governments have(?) to focus on the demographics they (perceive to directly) serve. And, ya know, not trying to be too much of an ass (and failing miserably, as usual), but during the pandemic a century ago, there were only 3 waves of the American flu (it was “Spanish” only because news leaked out first in the Spanish media), while we probably have one more to go after this 4th wave. So much for being smarter and better, as time goes on. That sucks that your employment is directly, and negatively, affected by all of this. I have some other, less kind, things to say about the manner which this continues to go on the same way, and it ain’t ‘bout the government, but I will leave them for elsewhere. The effects of this are very unevenly distributed across society. I’ve got some time off. Per your obligatory post-comment, with where your situation is at, is it time to spin up the Manitoba’s Wild Kingdom “The Party Starts Now”? I'm double vaccinated with a booster shot coming and I have no concerns meeting other vaccinated people.

I would suggest you look at what the doctors in Israel are saying about the vaccine. Also there are to doctors, one in the Navy and one in the Army that are screaming at anyone who will listen to them to stop the vaccines because of all the negative responses they are seeing. Do your homework. My neighbor, her sister was 28, Chicago marathon runner, died 5 days after getting her booster. My jogging partner, she works for the airlines. Her close friend flew down to Dallas to be one of the first in the US to get the booster. He missed his return flight. They found him dead in his hotel room. Of course not everyone has adverse reactions, let alone dies, but why take the chance when the symptoms are .... a cold. Why does everyone believe these government yahoos?

 ... We had our booster two weeks ago. BC kids arrived today.....(they don't stay here)...but will have to have split time with them as only 10 vaccinated people allowed to be in one household...there will be NO family turkey dinner to share this year. I'm not even counting on sex with the Mrs...

Omicron is running riot here; nearly 100,000 new cases each day. It remains to be seen whether this will lead to increased hospital admissions and deaths. I've been double-vaccinated and boostered.
