Shock and Loss

Just as I am feverishly gathering resources for my mental reboot vacation, I received word that my long time mentor has crossed over... he has given me so much wonderful advise over the years. Always at the most opportune moment, like when I was struggling with someone who did me wrong, he just looked at me and said, "discernment and testing the waters is always important, after all, salt and sugar look the same at first."
In my much younger days, he committed this saying into my mind forevermore... "Mind what people do as well as what they say, their actions will show their lies."

As I struggled with many fears, he helped me overcome time and time again...

Now that I am going on vacation for a mental reboot and feeling the pain of loss, I can only lean on his words once more:

“To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here, we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we can have. Cherish it for what it truly is . . .
Your life is yours alone. Rise up and live it.”

If I am not around for a while, you will understand.
