 I remember Daniel always stooping down, pacing his hands onto the Earth, he received energy, for what the purpose was at the time. However, I could not remember who Gaia was. I googled her:
n Greek mythology, Gaia ( / ˈɡeɪə, ˈɡaɪə /; from Ancient Greek Γαῖα, a poetical form of Γῆ Gē, "land" or "earth"), also spelled Gaea / ˈdʒiːə /, is the personification of the Earth and one of the Greek primordial deities. Gaia is the ancestral mother—sometimes parthenogenic —of all life.
No one questions the Mother. I think, She has chosen Daniel, to become the Leader of all the clans. We shall see as the story continues. Suspense is high, what comes next.

 HI Claw thanks for the mention this is such a good story and Dadigan has done his research there is a mystical and historical link in all of this.
