If I can figure out how to do it, this is where anyone can write to me and it will only be between us. I saw this on another blog. Sometimes its nice to have someone to talk to. Anyway, come sit a spell and if you feel like it, feel free to drop a line or two. Are you the type of woman who lives near the SW side of Chicago and enjoys the outdoors? Walking, hiking, bike riding? Other things!!! Come. Sit with me. Let us talk about those other things.

WOW! 1300 views and only one woman wrote to me?

Friends with benefits are nice. They are rare. I mean true friends (w/benefits). However, while waiting for that perfect match, the analogous of your desires, you meet people along the way. I have come to learn and understand there are those whom you meet along the way who only view you as a stepping stone or a stand-in until what they are truly looking for comes along. i.e. you are being used. If you are one to form quick attachments, you're in for a world of hurt.

Still, there are those whom you never meet, those whom if you did meet wouldn't fit into your constructs of desire, who become dear friends. I think this is someone is more likely female than male. I might be wrong on that. Just an observance. But such people are a blessing from above. You can be an encouragement to them while they can be a true encouragement to you. It's the short sighted and selfish people who don't recognize this aspect of life.

Then again....

Maybe it only affects standard users and not paying members. However, as of today I noticed that they no longer provide *Last Visit* information in profiles. I can only imagine what precipitated this. When I do a search for profiles in my area, there are only a half dozen active members. All the rest use to be designated *3 months or more.* Who wants to bother with a profile that is basically self deactivated?

This is sad. It is like when the airlines lowered their prices and actually made more revenue because they were then (and are now) almost always fully booked on each flight. So it might apply here. If TSDates would open up a bit more, perhaps more would actually be enticed in to becoming members.

So I find reference on tumblr to a site named, NSAMeets. Of course, . I type in the and get the initial page that reads: NSA Meets- The Best NSA Dating Site for FWB, NSA Fun. However, as I am reading this, it automatically loads TSDates! Interesting marketing technique. Set up all these fake sites that automatically log you into TSDates.

Are there other sites out there like this that anyone is aware of, links to TSDates?

This is just in the last hour. I gave up notifying the management. They don't do anything about it. Do Gold members get this spam?

LOL TSDates continues to delete my screen shot of all these scammers but didn't delete their accounts. Go figure.
Profile turnoffs and suggestions

First it must be noted that I am a standard member. If I view your full profile, it means I spent my earned points to look at it. And in that I have just about earned and used all my points up, it is particularly frustrating to spend the last of them to read at the end of a profile two things that should have been noted first. One, age limit. Two, denial of married/coupled men. Sigh!

However, I am immediately only referring to what is viewable in the quick glance profile so graciously afforded us by TSDates. Two things I noted in a profile this morning that sort of bristled my feathers was an immediate requirement of being 7" or more... and THICK. Then the addition of "doe nation."

Ok, I am not naive. I suppose men here put such things as, DD and bigger only. And more than likely a picture of their manhood (to impress the ladies) and some slutty comment about how they are going to F you (also thinking to impress the ladies).

Maybe its because I have had too much education and written, edited, read too many books. But as they say, honey attracts one thing, BS attracts another. It is just that it amazes me some of what is written here. Ok, I get it. I'm old school. I was raised where a man held the door open for the person behind them and he always paid for the meal. And unless he was at some sleazy dive bar, his vocabulary wasn't offensive. Be that as it may, I think respectfulness and being a gentleman or lady still advances one's chances on sites like this.

So... what are your turn offs that you see in profiles? Or do you even read them instead of looking at only the picture and/or location? What encourages you to contact someone here? Enquiring minds would really like to know.

PS Feel free to critique and criticize my own profile.
Girdles...just me being nostalgic?

I remember as a boy seeing girdles hanging on the all the clothes lines out back of the houses in the neighborhood. And then there were the girlie calendars hanging in the back of grandfather's gas station. Not to mention early in my dating daze, girls still very often never left the house on a date without having one one. Sort of mom's old school birth control. However, when they were pantiless girdles, with hose and panties properly worn *over* and not under the girdle, there was trouble a brew'n! LOL

Again, perhaps its just me, but IMHO I imagine a woman feels or at least is reminded that she is a woman, a feminine woman when she wears one. Maybe it also excites a bit of the animal in her. Do women even wear them any more?

I can't think of few other things that would surprise me more than for a date to hike up her skirt to give me a view of her nylon tops being gartered by a pantiless girdle. The icing on the cake would be that she was also, in keeping with the nostalgia, unshaven!

Is it just me?

The handhold.

The hug.

The kiss.

Who am I?

Who am I?

I am a retired teacher who has had many different jobs over the years. I look back and sometimes am amazed at all I actually have accomplished! If I listed some of the major accomplishments you'd be within your rights to think I was bragging. However, looking back on it all is very much like finding an old journal and reading it. Who wrote all those wonderful words? I ask.

So who am I. In many ways I am still that young boy who loved his grandpa and enjoyed it when he would load me up in his model A pickup and we'd head out to some farm to raise a silo or country home to dig and install a storm cellar or to build cabins for a summer kids camp. Perhaps its getting older and having more time to reflect on such things that I am growing more and more nostalgic. I dont think I am too far off to think that things were so much better back then. No tv so neighbors often sat out on the their front porches and talked to one another. Kids played outdoors until they got either tired or hungry. Parents did not worry about strange people trying to abduct your children back then.

Now we live in the microwave generation. Maybe I should say, the internet generation. No more pen and paper, envelopes and stamps and wait, wait, wait for a reply. Now it is all instantaneous. Now you are more likely to meet new people on line as opposed to in person. Busy lives that require instant gratification.

Am I separating myself from all that? Obviously not. I am on here, after all. And though we are seemingly a dying breed, I remain steadfastly and old school romantic. Sure, there are colorful hidden aspects. However, I remain kind and forgiving, sometimes too much so, to those who use me or disrespect me.

Rambling on Saturday. Sun is out. Have been to the gym. Taken the dog for a walk. Played with one grandchild (however briefly that was) and talked to my son about how his divorce was proceeding. Oh, the modality of life. Like a river, you never quite know what's around the next bend.

Who am I? John D. MacDonald somewhere wrote that we are never the best judges of ourselves. How true. At this point we could delve into a philosophical discussion on why alienation is mankinds nature and circumstance. But I think few would want me to pursue that.

I am a man who is too old to uproot himself from his family to live for myself. As C3PO stated, "It seems to be my lot in life" to always live for everyone elses needs or conveniences. It does get old and frustrating at times. Hence the nostalgia where, as a child, you were free to explore and life was an open road before you.

I see someone looked at my profile. I guess I'll have to settle for that as todays personal interaction. LOL Why did I sell my kayak and trailer. I should be paddling some Caribbean shoreline just about now.
Taking the fun out of it.

I once read somewhere "A woman loses a bit of her mystery with the unfastening of each button." I have pondered the truth/reality of that synopsis for a long time. I guess this post was inspired by a few of the profile pictures I just saw on here.

I suppose it can be a no win scenario for women on sites like this. You know men are such visual creatures so you bait your hook with a little nudity in the hope that it will encourage a nibble if not a bite. And I suppose it works for the most part because for the most part most men on this site are all too willing to oblige. And judging by the number of dick pics either as the main profile picture or freely posted and/or sent unasked for, for the most part, the men on here are of that variety.

Now back to the inspiration.

The jury is out. Sometimes I am drawn to the woman who posts pictures of herself in the nude.... if they are done tastefully. However, there is just something about a picture of her spread eagled with her gaping womanhood for all the world to see that just turns me off (even if initially liking what I see). We're all complex. And the world has become very complex in this online social networking.

All this to say, I'd much rather undo the buttons myself. Where's the fun on meeting the first time and not having that mystery yet to unveil itself?

TSDates IM Scam?

Maybe its just me!!! Maybe having an old man scares them all off? But after a brief absence I initiated two chats today on IM and before I could send of a second sentence, their profile disappears from the IM forum. I have had this happen all too often in the past. TSDates only gives standard members 3 contacts/day now. (use to be 5).

Actually, its all rather funny, now that I think of it. Sort of like playing tic-tac-toe with an 8 yr old. You inwardly smile because it is always almost going to end in a stalemate. LOL
Where's My Tiffany?

I didn't realize this was an older movie. But I watched it the other day and along with Shawshank Redemption and Cast Away and others (Any Human Heart), I totally identified with the characters in the movie and was drawn to Tiffany. How quick we are to judge rather than to get to know the real person. And sometimes you don't get to know them through words!

I totally understand her frustration as quoted in the second picture

PS I just watched this again. Not as powerful but still, love Tiffany's character. There are a lot of Tiffany's out there. I only want one.
