Sadly walking is getting more dangerous. Half of the vehicles are now SUVs or trucks. The big non-cars protect those in the vehicle but walkers and cyclists not so much. The increasing danger to the rest of the public is increasing the danger.
Sad to think you can escape the Covid 19 virus and still get run over by distracted drivers.
Be wary as the paranoids are after you.

I used to enjoy arguing and debating. That was handy for litigation. Now not so much. I prefer to settle disputes with a compromise. The winner take all choice is too expensive and delayed due to court congestion.
So I don't do civil or criminal lawsuits. Except I do asylum cases which is stressful enough.
But now I look for excuses not to argue with people who are crazy... I am not going to waste time arguing with Trump supporters in California as they do not change the result at the election. Nor will I waste energy in red states where they are in the cult. If you have given your mind to the devil why should I fight to retrieve it?
So for those who fear the vaccine I say worry about your health and consider the odds of serious injury. Very few have suffered injury from the vaccines, but millions have lost their lives worldwide from covid 19.
If you care about yourself and those who love you, then get vaccinated.

Trump lost 61 lawsuits claiming fraud in the 2020 election. No evidence. Some rare errors and a few real criminal acts, but no major fraud that changed any result.
So why do so many GOP types believe the election was stolen? They think the right wing machine is telling the truth when it is clearly lying. People believe lies they like to think are true.
Gun owners think having a gun makes them safer when it raises the odds of death by suicide, accident or getting shot by your own gun. Even cops get shot by their own gun somewhat often.
Again why are people so irrational? Clear thinking is hard and takes time. Also in some places telling the truth will get you shot or worse get you shunned.
Look at Liz Cheney. Too right wing for me. But she is truth telling on Trump and inconvenient for the GOP that is still a cult of Trump worshipers.
Sadly if you want to be hated tell people the truth. They don't like it.

I have a hard time understanding those who refuse vaccination. Doses are being wasted and thrown out due to lack of willingness to get vaccinated in the U.S.
Meanwhile millions are in threat of death in India and other places.
Lets get clear. The three approved vaccines in the U.S. are 0% able to let you avoid d or hospitalization from severe Covid 19 infection. For most the shots are free. All are eligible now over age . You can get appointments or walk in in many places. Once vaccinated you can go outside without a mask and feel less worried about a senseless end.
The side effects have been generally mild. For J & J there were six blood clot problems, all for women under age 40. For Moderna and Pfizer there were no serious side effects. A one in a million risk with J & J.
Rational people would pay serious money to avoid serious illness and hospitals and you can get this benefit for free. Why endanger yourself and others?
I am fully vaccinated with Moderna. I think being safe and healthy is sexy. So be smart and get vaccinated for you and society in general.

Another recent tragedy in Minn. shows my point about having guns around leads death. A policewoman yelled Taser but grabbed her gun and shot a Black man who was resisting arrest. She made a mistake and he is dead. If a trained law enforcement officer can make a mistake, an untrained member of the public can too. Making death easy is not a good thing to encourage.
My point is no gun and no dead guy. I think it is more dangerous to own a gun and have it in the house than to not own a gun. Sure you can use a knife to kill yourself but it is messy and more wor
Some people like make a big splash when then die and guns are good that. But think of the clean up crew whose job is deal with the mess....
So I prefer not have a gun and not have deal with more dead bodies.

The big problem with guns is not mass homicides, it is suicide.
When Americans think about deaths from guns, we tend focus homicides. But the problem of gun suicide is inescapable: More than 60 percent of people in this country who die from guns die by suicide.
Suicide gets a lot less attention than murders for a few reasons. One big one is that news organizations generally don’t cover suicides the way they do murders. There’s evidence that news attention around suicide can lead more suicides. Suicide is more stigmatized and less discussed than homicide.
But, as a matter of public health, gun suicides are a huge problem in the United States. Suicide is the second-most common cause of death for Americans between 18 and 34, according the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Across all ages, it is the tenth-most common cause of death, and caused 1.6 percent of deaths in 20.
Not of those suicides are by gun, but a majority are. And while some people feeling suicidal impulses will choose another method if a gun is not at hand, public health researchers cite two reasons guns are particularly dangerous: 1) Guns are more lethal than most other methods people try, so someone who attempts suicide another way is more likely survive; 2) Studies suggest that suicide attempts often occur shortly after people decide themselves, so people with deadly means hand when the impulse strikes are more likely use them than those who have wait or plan.
That means that strategies that make suicide more inconvenient or difficult can save lives. Guns, when they are in the home, can make self-harm both easy and deadly.
There are a few classic studies that show these factors. One is historical: In England in the first half of the 20th century, many people died after intentionally inhaling lethal fumes in coal ovens. When oven technology changed to less dangerous natural , fewer people had an easy means of suicide in their home. some people found another suicide method, and the suicides fell substantially.
Another occurred in Israel, where members of the military had a suicide . In 2006, the army stopped letting soldiers take their weapons home on weekends. The suicide rate fell there, too, by 40 percent.
Many of the gun-control measures that politicians propose to reduce the of homicides and mass shootings would have a limited effect on gun suicides. Efforts to ban so-called assault weapons or to reduce the of bullets that could be loaded into a gun at once would probably not make suicide any less likely. But other measures meant to prevent gun homicides might have an effect on gun suicides, particularly those designed to identify and help people with mental health needs. Mental illness, which may contribute to mass shootings, is a clear risk factor for suicide.
The moral of the story is clear: The gun you for protection may you in a moment of depression. Fewer guns mean fewer people get shot, injured or die.

Reading about NY governor Cuomo's travails. He is accused of less pushy behavior than Trump yet there is much more pressure for him to resign or get impeached. Dems seem to expect better from leaders than the GOP does.
There are six or more women accusing the Gov of bad behavior. He is a bully but that seems to be normal for some New York guys. Some people seemed to like Trump for being a bully.
Not sure if Gov. Cuomo deserves to be forced to resign for human misbehaving.
Then again it seems hard to see him being an effective leader in this era.

Looks like by May all can get vaccinated. All three vaccines are 100% effective against being hospitalized or death from Covid virus. That is huge. So hold on for a month or two and stay alive. Beats dying by a lot.
Do not be fooled there is no upside to avoiding the need to get vaccinated. Even one dose of Moderna or Pfizer vaccines makes a huge difference.
Plus looks like the Covid relief package will get thru the Senate with no help from the GOP. Who loves you? Do not forget at election time...

Will Trump fade away anytime soon?
While we can hope, the white evangelicals think Trump is heaven sent Messiah. Trump thinks so too. His Twitter feed is stopped but he has money scammed from his faithful base, and still ambition to rule the world. Mainstream moderate Repubs reject his calls to violence, but the bulk of GOP are ok with his schtick.
We can hope for an early death, but without such luck we need prison to tarnish him further.
I think the tax returns now going to the Manhattan DA may lead to tax fraud, bank fraud and even insurance fraud convictions. Lock him up....

Junior Senator from Texas Ted Cruz has a sad situation. He lies and cries and is despised. He just naturally gets stuff wrong. He was caught fleeing cold Texas for Cancun Mexico. So he blames his ! Then comes back, but still is useless.

Many guys and gals wish the guy had a really big dick. Well I knew a guy with a really large dick when I was in college. His dick was huge, like ten inches long and really thick as a wine bottle.
My friend was always complaining about stuff. He had a girl friend who was too tight to let his dick enter her pussy! Sad. So be careful what you wish for, as too much dick can be a bummer too. Being normal sized, I never had that problem.

McConnell shows his hypocrisy. He stalls the second impeachment trial then claims it is too late to impeach Trump due to his leaving office. Sad and untrue.
We were lucky hundreds did not die. We were lucky the short delay did not stop Biden from becoming the next POTUS.
The best way to turn the page is to deliver good results for the U.S. Covid 19 vaccines are getting into arms. More money needs to be on the way soon.
Trump is a loser and fool. Biden and Dems need to prove democracy can work.
