Nature Walks with Secret_Lade

I've been driving past this place for the past three weeks, thinking myself, I need that out.

So, today I did.

No loons.... Just this.

Yikes!

On the plus side, I did get a nice walk in, on a beautiful day, at a pretty lake.

Country Mouse signing out....

I wonder if you thought it was a throw back to your Doric roots - Loons are boys in north east scotland.

Or did you think it was a shelter for a.f.f bloggers??

Nice walk mind McLade!

It nice to a place to wonder.
Peiceful to get away by yourself.
That why I love to go out hunting.
Be alone with one in nature.
Have a wonderful day back at work.

'Deadly' snakes and lovely lakes. I guess that makes it even.
Luckily the snake wasn't deadly!

Are the leaves changing colors up there ?
They're just starting in Bellaire... But in Gaylord they are almost past peak.

    Peaceful. Thatโ€™s a nice place.
It was peaceful... And sunny and beautiful. I think I might just go back to sit on a bench and enjoy the view.

There is some sort of an overlook I want to check out next. I see the road sign on the way to work everyday, I'm curious to see what it's all about.

You're likely to see loons mostly during migration season. They breed north of you and winter south of you. Musta been a loonytic that named the place "Loon Lake".

    Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!
I'm not sure how long this place has been here.... There were two benches that had dedications on them from 2002, so it's been at least a little while. I would think that there were nesting loons there at some point.... I'm curious to check it out in the spring/summer.

Most of the snakes in Northern Michigan are harmless too, thank God. I'm not a real big snake fan.

Maybe they migrate? I should look it up. It's not usually 75 degrees around here in the middle of October, all this nice weather is tricking the mind.
