Worries for the Boot Camp Boy....

Elsa has made landfall.

Several of my coworkers have been following the path and progress of her as she will be affecting Marine Corp Recruit Depot Parris Island today and filling in their thoughts and speculations.

Isn't it bad enough that I have my own concerns?

The mom in can't stop worrying even though I know this recruit base has been there for over a hundred years and they face this stuff often.

My recruit came from Gaylord, MI where we don't experience this stuff often.

He will be in my thoughts today.

It will be one more thing they will teach him to be prepared for...but they will also make sure he's safe. He's important to them too! But yeah...he's your baby so that makes it a whole different thing.
I think that's part of the problem.... I still see him as my little guy in my minds eye. He's not a little guy anymore.

I couldn't think of a safer place. Like you said.
The storm was really downgraded once it made landfall, which was good. It eased my mind.

It passed right by here, she was nothing but a good summer shower. I have seen worse on any Sunday afternoon here in June or July, Dont worry he will be fine..
Good to know! I'm feeling much less concerned.

They are so well prepared for this. Parris Island has been there for a long long time and taken a ton of hurricane hits. This was like a thunderstorm to the area. A mere shower to a marine.
Thunderstorms I can deal with. Much less worry some!

Other than a big rain event for the coastline, it's turned into just a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 as far as tropical storms go in SC.
Oh, that's good to know, makes me feel much better. Thank you.

Prayers are with your Boot Camp Boy. I have had friends there when they have gone through this and definitely are prepared for it. Stay safe yourself.
I believe they are prepared for it, they're prepared for everything.

Oh my, I saw shake & bake and that ancient commercial immediately popped into my mind. "It's shake & bake... And I helped." LOL

No need to worry, Mom, by the time it hits Parris Island, it will be mostly rain. But I do understand that it is your duty to be worried because you are a really good mom. Have a good one.
I worry a lot about him right now.... I think mostly because I'm not able to talk to him. Sometimes you just need to hear that voice to ease your mind.
